Last night, at the Royal Armouries in Leeds, CIA presented trophies to the winners of our 2022 Awards. It was an evening that celebrated the success of the UK chemical industry and the superb achievements of its workforce.
Steve Elliott, Chief Executive of CIA said in his welcome speech, “What you have all achieved over the past two and a half years has been nothing short of victorious. You have shown the way in leading this country and this economy to a new level of resilience. Whether it is Brexit, the pandemic, the cost of living crisis or Russia’s invasion of Ukraine… this industry repeatedly steps forward in providing solutions for all. And throughout all of these challenges, we have had three years of growth. Whilst it’s true that the rate has slowed over that period, we are now at a level which is over 6% higher than our pre-COVID position. That’s an unprecedented performance in the British economy… and that is down to you.“
Whether you were able to join us in Leeds, entered any of our awards or were not able to do so, we at CIA want to thank all of you for continuing to show what this truly innovative industry does for the whole of the UK and beyond.
Congratulations to all our 2022 winners!
